On Lakeshore near Longbranch, you can go to 850 degrees and get one of the best pizzas outside of Naples. This place is busy and you will know why by the time you finish your pie. I love this place, it's a family owned, and operated restaurant for the last almost 6 years. All of the ingredients are from local farms, wineries and breweries. The only two items that are not from within a 100 mile radius is the ‘00 flour and San Marzano tomatoes. Even the wine list is from Niagara region which are not overly priced. The beers are from local breweries within the surrounding Toronto. Stonehooker brewery, which is conveniently located down the street is collaborating with the pizzeria to have a lager and now an IPA. Both are very good and pairs very well with the Lord Stanley (my personal favourite) or the Old York. The names of the pizzas are very true to Canadians. They have descriptions of why they are named the way they are on the menus with little blurbs about the history.
850 prides themselves on having good pizza without overcharging. Most of their pizzas are under $20 and with fresh ingredients you can’t go wrong. They even have gluten free dough that you wouldn’t even know the difference. It’s the same flour that the regular pizza’s use but just without the gluten. So, anyone who has celiac can rejoice, you have found your pizza spot. I have overheard people that come from different areas just to have this pizza. I live just down the street but if I didn’t I would still come here. And if I still haven’t convinced you to try this pizza, my niece and nephew both gave it two thumbs up and they have been to Italy themselves.
